It’s official : A sequel to Three Wise Men and A Baby will be released this Christmas!!! Fans wanted more, and they came out in force. They have repeatedly expressed their wish for a sequel to their beloved movie. We no longer believed in it, but the good news came from Hallmark Media today.
Will the sequel be as good as the original?
As surprising as it was deserved, Three Wise Men and a Baby was the #1 most-watched original movie premiere of 2022. It aired in mid-November and garnered most of its views on its broadcast night (3.6 million viewers). We’ve clearly all fallen under the spell of Luke, Stephan and Taylor. The bar is set high, but I can bet that the second movie will do just as well. #Hynies, I am counting on you!
Three Wise Men and a Baby sequel – What can we expect?
One thing we know for sure is that all three lead actors (Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell and Tyler Hynes) and their on-screen mother (Margaret Colin) reprise their roles. As with the first film, Paul will be double-hatted as actor and screenwriter, working alongside his sidekick Kimberley Sustad. She once again joins him in writing the script. Terry Ingram, director of the first movie, is back behind the camera. No word yet on whether Ali Liebert and Fiona Vroom will appear in the sequel. But we have the title: Three Wiser Men and a Boy.
Three Wiser Men and a Boy – What is the story about ?
The story begins five years later with the Brenner brothers preparing for another memorable Christmas. In a crazy turn of events, possibly brought on accidently by the brothers themselves, the director of Luke’s son Thomas’ school holiday musical steps down. Luke is desperate to make his son’s stage dreams come true, so he enlists the help of his brothers Taylor and Stephan. Meanwhile, the trio navigates meeting their mom Barbara’s new boyfriend and the brothers grapple with their own feelings about this relationship. In true Brenner brother fashion, they are all in for a Christmas they will never forget.
We’ll have to wait for the 15th edition of Hallmark’s #CountdownToChristmas holiday program, before we can enjoy this sequel on TV. If you happen to be in Langley, British Columbia, keep your eyes open – filming is underway.
